How to select filter element

1. Characteristics of filter media
First figure out whether to filter liquid or gas. And according to the characteristics of liquid or gas to choose the filter membrane material or sealing material, filtration water solution generally with hydrophilic membrane, filtration organic solvent can be selected Hydrophilic membrane, hydrophobic film for filtering air.

2. Flow rate of filter element.
Consider the filter size and the number of filter elements according to the flux provided by the production process. Generally the flow rate of the filter element (10 inches) is 0.5 tons/hour (filtration water flux), for example to achieve 1.0 tons of flow a filter with a cartridge of 30 inches can be used, with some leeway, because as filtration proceeds, impurities accumulate on the surface of the membrane, resulting in a decline in flux, if a filter of 20 inches is used, then it may not meet the requirements.

3, pressure, temperature
According to the filtration temperature, pressure, disinfection conditions to determine the appropriate filter element. The maximum working temperature of the general filter element is 80~90℃. Activated carbon fiber for 65℃, pleated stainless steel at 200℃, the titanium sintered filter cartridge can reach 280℃. The maximum pressure of the microporous membrane pleated filter cartridge is 0.42mpa/forward, the titanium sintered filter cartridge is 0.5mpa, and the stainless steel pleated filter cartridge is 0.6mpa.

4. Filtration requirements

Filter element cleaning method (water solution and organic solvent filter element)

At the end of the production, the filter element is thoroughly cleaned to minimize the physical blockage of the membrane, which is also the requirement for the preservation or integrity testing of the filter element after the production.

Recommended cleaning method

1. Soak the filter element in 1%NaOH solution (30-60℃) for 2 hours, then rinse with pure water. However, the mixed cellulose membrane filter element is not suitable.
2. Acid: Soak the filter element with 0.5% HCI solution for 10 minutes, and rinse it with pure water.

Matters needing attention

1. The filter element shall not be reversed washed to prevent compression deformation;
2. Prevent being damaged by other objects when cleaning;
3. High quality water should be used to clean the filter element;
4, it is recommended that the general cleaning temperature is 30-60℃; Soak cleaning time 30-60 minutes;
5. After cleaning, the cleaning agent should be thoroughly washed;

How often to replace filter element (water filter element)
It is recommended that you replace the filter element in any of the following situations:
(The filter element must be replaced according to the production procedures required by GMP)

1. Filter element does not pass integrity test;
2. Pressure difference is above 2bar;
3. The flow rate cannot meet the requirements of production
4, has reached the verified service life.
5. The filter element is deformed or damaged;
6. When the filtration accuracy of the filter element is reduced, it cannot meet the requirements of water outlet;
7. The water yield of the system is not up to standard.

How to replace the filter element

The filter element is the core filter component of the liquid filter. Generally, the filter element needs to be replaced if it is deformed or damaged. When the liquid filter fails to meet the requirements of water outlet, it also needs to be replaced. The replacement procedure is as follows:

Liquid filter element replacement steps:

1. First stop the filter operation, and then remove the manhole cover plate;

2. Unscrew the clamping nut of the filter element, remove the pressure plate and take out the filter element, and rinse the inside of the equipment with water;

3. Remove the upper and lower positioning rings at both ends of the filter element and clean them with water, and then insert the two ends of the new filter element respectively. It should be noted that before using the new filter element, the filter element must be soaked for about half an hour to make it wet

Run state;

4. Insert one end of the positioning ring under the new filter core strip into the hole of the porous plate;

5. Take the pull rod as the axis, and insert it into the press plate, insert the upper positioning ring of the filter element into the corresponding hole of the press plate, and tighten the press nut;

6. After the filter element is installed, install the upper manhole cover plate and start the water supply;

7. Finally, open the water inlet valve and exhaust valve. When the equipment is filled with water, open the clean valve and close the exhaust valve.
